This course provides instruction for a small circle of "family musicians" in the style of "Hausmusik" (music in the home) together with other instruments (flute, guitar, violin, harmonica and so on). It is intended for fun and good home entertainment. This type of activity is great for building character and elevating the family! All ages.

EXPLORE THE WORLD OF DANCE

Music and dance bring joy and lift up your spirit. Whatever your talent or interest, we will learn different kinds of dancing such as ballet, modern, international and improvisa-tion. This course will allow you to carry yourself with grace and dignity. The minimum age is 7 years and the whole family is welcome.

A WALK FOR PEACE: UNDERSTANDING THE LABYRINTH

The labyrinth, an ancient symbol of whole-ness and harmony, is a universal tool which facilitates the process of self-reflection, aids in releasing stress and promoting relaxation, and provides a calming place of being in our bustling, complex world. Learn about the multi-cultural history of labyrinths and their recent revival; their relevance and ways of utilizing them in our lives today; how to create a simple labyrinth; and experience walking indoor and outdoor labyrinths.

Instructor: Gillian Corcoran is a Veriditas certified Labyrinth Facilitator and member of The Labyrinth Society, who has been walking, working with, and building laby-rinths since 2001.

FENG SHUI AND THE ART OF "DIVINATION"

The ancient Chinese science of harmonizing your home and environment is known as “Feng Shui”. It is based on rules and tech-niques that maximize the flow of life energy also known as “Chi”. If you consider your home as the extension of your body you found an effective paradigm for creating a sense of wholeness with your immediate surroundings. You will learn to organize and improve your environment by arranging your house with Feng Shui. These simple changes will benefit your health, social interactions and professional life.

Divination relates to the practice of “Fortune Telling” in Eastern Philosophy.

You will develop skills that allow you to act as the center of harmony. Your name and date of birth influence your personality and favor events. Using your talents will bring you great possibilities and opportunities.

PRAYER SHAWLS: KNITTING IN FAITH

Knitting is a work of love, an investment of more than time and effort by the knitter that becomes part of the knitted item. In this course we learn the basic knitting stitches, and how to choose yarn and color. But besides learning the techniques, we will also discuss the benefits of this gentle art upon the knitter and the recipient of the knitted items. We will explore how knitting can enrich your own and other's lives by taking a deeper look at the recent phenomenon of “Prayer Shawls”. Please bring a set of needles size 8 and a light colored worsted weight yarn to the first meeting.
